Philadelphia University offers one of the few Landscape Architecture programs to emphasize urban design and planning with a service-learning approach. It is our mission to reinforce the principles and practices of sustainability at every level. Courses are designed to teach technical skills and problem-solving techniques, and students respond to real community and environmental issues. Landscape Architecture is a profession for the future, and our program is committed to ensuring that our graduates become leaders in the field, defining the future of the sustainable process.
Our faculty includes some of the top landscape architects in the world. The curriculum focuses on real-world learning: students collaborate not only across disciplines, but also with community leaders and representatives from government and environmental agencies. Our scenic campus is part of the expansive Fairmount Park system, where students also study natural systems and restoration techniques. Under our faculty’s guidance, students and alumni often secure internships and employment with some of the country’s most prestigious firms, such as OLIN Partnership, Adropogon, Ayers St. Gross, Oehme Van Sweden, Jonathan Alderson and more.
