Advising

The Learning & Advising Center serves as the primary academic advising resource of first year and transfer students. Drop-in advising and faculty advisor outreach to students provide these students the opportunity to consult regularly with a faculty advisor.

First year advisors assist new students to:

  • select courses
  • learn the requirements for particular majors
  • make good academic choices and decisions
  • suggest strategies for classroom success

First year advisors also:

  • monitor student academic progress
  • refer students to appropriate PhilaU services
  • prepare students to transition to upper level academic advising

The Learning & Advising Center offers drop in hours from 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday, no appointment is necessary.
