a) Microsoft Office Documents:
Instructors can put Word, PowerPoint,
Excel and Access documents on an ERes page. To properly access any of these documents you
must have the appropriate software on your computer, in which case the software will
automatically open when you click on the ERes document link. Once the document is loaded,
you can print or save the document as regularly done. All Office documents will work in
campus computer labs.
b) Scanned Articles:
Instructors can scan articles and post them on an ERes page. When you click on one of these scanned articles your browser will open a
new window. There are devices that allow you to navigate the pages of the document. You
can also click on a button to print the scanned article.
c) Text Files: Instructors can download or create plain ASCII text
files. Depending on your browser, it may be read in the browser window or a simple text
editor may be opened by your browser to enable you to read the document.
d) Image Files: To view an
image, click on the link and your browser will open a new window in which
the image will be shown.
e) PDF Files: Instructors can scan documents into the Adobe
Acrobat PDF format. In order to read these documents you MUST have the Adobe
Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. All lab and library computers have the
Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you do not have the Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can download
a free copy and install it on your computer.
