Midwifery Institute of Philadelphia University alumna
Tanya began her journey
to midwifery after the empowering birth of her own daughter at the Elizabeth Seton
Childbearing Center in Manhattan in 2000. Soon after, Tanya began working as a doula
and taking steps toward becoming a midwife, enrolling in nursing school at New York
University, and graduating with a BSN in 2003. She worked as a labor and delivery
nurse until she graduated from the Midwifery Institute in 2007.
Tanya has provided
care for women in many settings, including tertiary care centers, community hospitals,
and freestanding birthing centers. She has worked in a busy, physician-owned private
practice that served a diverse population, overseeing the care of more than 1,000
women through the Rockland County Prenatal Clinic in Nyack, NY and the Ezra Choilim
Health Center in Monroe, NY.
In January 2009, Tanya
joined Full Circle Women’s Health in White Plains, NY, the only independently-owned
midwifery practice with hospital privileges in Westchester County. She is proud
to be able to provide women with a more holistic approach to healthcare within a
center that offers a wide range of services including acupuncture (from infertility
to intrapartum pain management), chiropractic services, herbal and nutritional medicine,
lactation consultants, and daily classes.
Tanya is thrilled to be on faculty at MIPU.
