A variety of criteria will be
used by the Midwifery Candidate
Screening and Selection Committee in
making a decision about your
acceptance. To be eligible for
admission to Philadelphia
University's Master of Science
Program in Midwifery, you must have
the following credentials:

A
baccalaureate degree from an
accredited college or university
with a minimum cumulative grade
point average of 3.0.

Completion of or current
enrollment in an ACME (Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education) accredited
nurse-midwifery/midwifery
program with a minimum
cumulative grade point average
of 3.0.

Standardized test scores (GRE or the MAT) are recommended but not required.

Completion of a three-credit
statistics course. If you'd like suggestion for on-line statistics courses, please contact us.

The Admissions Committee will also
consider additional criteria
including:
- Two
letters of reference
- Phone
interview
- Writing sample - a critique of an article that appeared in the Journal of Midwifery & Women’s Health within the last year (not required for students/graduates of Philadelphia University's Post-Master's Certificateprogram).
- Professional resume
- Personal essay
