ADMISSION
TO THE M.S. IN MIDWIFERY COMPLETION PROGRAM
A variety of criteria will be used by the Midwifery
Candidate Screening and Selection Committee in making a
decision about your acceptance. To be eligible for admission
to Philadelphia University's Master of Science Program in
Midwifery, you must have the following credentials:
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or
university with a minimum cumulative grade point average of
3.0.
- Completion of or current enrollment in an ACNM accredited
nurse-midwifery/midwifery program with a minimum cumulative
grade point average of 3.0.
- Completion of a three-credit statistics course.
Official standardized test scores (GRE or the MAT)
recommended but NOT REQUIRED. The Admissions Committee will also consider additional
criteria including:
- Two letters of reference
- Phone interview
- Writing sample - a critique of an article that
appeared in the Journal of Midwifery & Women’s Health
within the last year (not required for
students/graduates of Philadelphia University's Post-Master's Certificateprogram).
- Professional resume
- Personal essay
