Cheri Van Hoover, CNM, MS
Midwife Tutor and Master's Faculty

Cheri completed her nursing education at City College of San Francisco and received her BSN from the University of Phoenix. Her certificate in nurse-midwifery was awarded by the University of California, San Francisco Interdepartmental Nurse-Midwifery Education Program, followed by her MS with a specialty in midwifery from the State University of New York at Stonybrook.
She has practiced midwifery in a variety of settings; including private midwifery practices, a busy HMO, and collaborative MD/CNM groups at both private hospitals and teaching institutions. She was formerly an assistant clinical professor with the Faculty OB/GYN Group at the University of California, San Francisco. She is currently a contributing editor for the Journal of Midwifery and Women's Health, responsible for Media Reviews.
Cheri has been a member of the Midwifery Institute of Philadelphia University faculty since 2004, with teaching responsibilities both as a midwife tutor and for the Master's degree program.

Cheri lives on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State with her husband, Rocky. They share their home and property with a dog, a cat, 2 goats (and their babies), 9 chickens, 2 horses, and abundant wildlife. She keeps busy with gardening, their vintage costume jewelry business, clinical practice at a family planning center, and many community activities,
