A key feature of the program is a required study abroad component. The MS in Interior Architecture program has partnered with the Danish Institute for Study Aboard (DIS) in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Philadelphia University students join design students from across North America and spend six weeks at DIS doing both studio and field work in design and history studies.
The Danish Institute for Study Abroad is a high-quality study abroad program established in 1959. All DIS courses are taught in English and provide an opportunity for students to experience new situations and build and develop leadership skills for a globalized world that increasingly requires cross cultural understanding.
During the seven weeks in Copenhagen, studio instruction focuses on the process of Interior Architecture as practiced in the Danish tradition and the relationship between conceptual design and its application within existing structures. In addition students have the opportunity to join study trips to Sweden, Finland, and other areas of Denmark.
