Purchasing a Network Interface Card (NIC)

For Windows and Macintosh Computers

Overview

A network interface card (NIC) is an investment that will pay off in convenience during your residency at the University.  This fast ethernet NIC will allow you to connect your personal computer directly to the University network from your room in any residence hall or townhouse, giving you 24-hour-a-day superfast connectivity to our network services and the internet - free of charge.  No tying up phone lines, no busy signals, no waiting for dial-up, and many times faster data transfer than you could get over a modem.

Vendors

  • University Store:

Currently, network interface cards (NIC) - for both laptops and desktops - can be purchased at Philadelphia University's bookstore.  Please contact the store directly for pricing by calling 215-951-2717.

  • Computition

In addition, the University also has a special arrangement for students to purchase Intel NICs for Win95 systems at a competitive price from Computition.  Please contact the vendor directly for current pricing by calling (570) 523-3373 and/or to place order with any major credit card. You must identify yourself as a student at Philadelphia University to qualify for this pricing.
