Office of Information Resources
provides limited computer support for
personal computers belonging
Philadelphia University staff, faculty
and students. Students
accessing our services must be a
currently enrolled, and attending
Philadelphia University.

Computer
Purchase Program
The Office
of Information Resources is pleased to
announce that three major suppliers of
computing hardware to our campus; Apple,
Dell, and
Gateway have agreed to extend
higher education discount pricing to
Philadelphia University students.
Students will be required to provide
proof of affiliation with a valid
Philadelphia University ID.
Products

computers in various configurations
that should address a wide variety of
needs.

Hardware/Printer Support
The
Office of Information Technology does
not provide hardware support for student
machines or printers; however, we have
an agreement with The
Computer Fixer to provide
these services. The
Computer Fixer offers
discounted rates for Philadelphia
University students, fast turn-around
time, detailed estimates prior to
repairing, certified experienced
technicians, and two convenient
locations for carry-in (Drexel
University and the
University of Pennsylvania.) The
Computer Fixer is also
an authorized warranty repair center for
various pc manufacturers. To find

Purchasing a Network Interface
Card (NIC)
Resident Consultants (ResCons)
The Office of Information Technology
employs students part-time to provide on-site computing
support in the residence halls. ResCons are available during the evening
hours, and a work order request must be
placed in order to receive
assistance. Please contact the
Technology Help Desk to place a
work order; you will then be contacted
within 3-5 business days by one of our ResCons. Please click

Software Support
The Microsoft Campus Agreement is an
annual licensing program specially
created to address the unique needs
of higher education institutions.
The Campus Agreement gives higher
education institution employees the
right to run the licensed software
on all their home computers for a
12-month period, and automatically
licenses all upgrades of the
software throughout the term of the
Agreement.
Windows Operating System Upgrades
(i.e., Windows XP)
Microsoft Office (i.e., Office 2007
for PC,
Office 200/ for MAC)
Miscellaneous Software (i.e.,
Expressions Web, Visio, Project, etc.)
The software MUST be
purchased online, and will then be
shipped to you. To order
