The profession of occupational therapy has two levels of clinicians: the occupational therapist and the occupational therapy assistant. Occupational therapists are educated at the master’s level and have greater responsibility for directing the occupational therapy process. Occupational therapy assistants are educated at the associate degree level and work under the supervision of occupational therapists.
