Where to Send Your Application:
OTCAS must receive the application, references, and transcripts in the fall in order to verify and make available to the University by February 1. Once your application is complete, OTCAS will verify your documents before releasing them to Jefferson - East Falls. Please note that the University cannot access unverified applications. Applicants should confirm their status as verified with OTCAS.

 Please note:

  • OTCAS now accepts GRE scores (use school code 7167). It does not accept MAT scores; these scores may be self-reported and official scores sent to Jefferson - East Falls Campus school code 1654.

  • OTCAS does not accept paper references. Letters of recommendation are submitted electronically through the OTCAS system.

List of Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree: minimum overall 3.0 grade point average. Upon matriculation, official transcripts of all previous undergraduate or graduate study must be provided to the Jefferson - East Falls Graduate Admission’s Office.
  • Two letters of reference: these should examine the applicant's abilities, communication skills, motivation, interpersonal attributes, and emotional resilience.
  • Documentation of work and volunteer experiences: highlight accomplishments, and work and volunteer experiences in health care, community, social and/or human service.
  • Clinical observation documentation: minimum 20 hours under the supervision of an occupational therapist.
  • Personal essay: reviewed for written communication skills, knowledge of the OT profession, personal insight, and motivation for the profession (500 words or less).
  • Results of Graduate Record Examination (GRE) OR Miller Analogies Test (MAT) (Philadelphia University codes: GRE code 7167; MAT code 1654).
    Candidates with GRE or MAT scores at the 50 percentile or greater will receive primary consideration. Candidate's application packet will only be reviewed after the GRE or MAT score is self-reported in OTCAS. If accepted to the OT Program, candidates must provide official score reports to the university prior to enrolling.
  • OT Program prerequisite courses: an average 3.0 GPA or higher in prerequisite courses is an admission requirement (minimum grades of "B-" in each course). Courses may be completed at any accredited institution. All prerequisite courses must be completed prior to enrolling in OT coursework. In order for the Admission Committee to review a candidate's application, final grades for at least four prerequisite courses (including a minimum of two science courses) must be completed.
