Mary Beth Thomas, DOT, MS, OTR/L joins the faculty as Assistant Professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator in the MS in Occupational Therapy Program at the East Falls Campus. Prior to joining faculty at Jefferson East Falls, she was an occupational therapist  for 17 years who specialized in working with children with autism and emotional/ behavioral challenges.  She most recently worked with elementary students in a high-need school district and was the primary OT at a camp who provides programming for children living with special needs.  Previously, she served as the OT for the autism evaluation team at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.  She has expertise with aquatics, sensory integration, assistive technology, and intervention with children with complex medical issues.  During her doctoral studies, Mary Beth designed a model to track outcomes for hippotherapy (use of horses in therapy) programs.
