Monique Chabot, OTD, MS, OTR/L specializes in geriatrics and aging-in-place. Her experience ranges from working with older adults with orthopedic and neurological conditions, to families for dementia caregiver training and environmental modifications. Monique holds specialized training for Parkinson's Disease with a LSVT- BIG certification. In addition to her occupational therapy license, Monique is a licensed massage therapist and has Kinesio Taping certification. She has a specific interest in interprofessional collaboration among home design professionals and owns Home Design for Seniors. In 2014, Monique was selected as an AOTA Emerging Leader, where she worked with the Home and Community Special Interest Section to increase the knowledge base of occupational therapists on home modifications. Her most recent efforts are directed toward international collaboration. To this end she takes students to Morocco for a Level I fieldwork experience where they work on an assistive device fabrication and training program for mothers and clinicians.
