INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

The University welcomes applications for admission from qualified international students.

Persons who have completed their studies outside the United States must present all postsecondary school credentials. Such credentials must include studies completed to date, marks or examination results received, degrees, diplomas and certificates earned. Documents must be authenticated or certified and those not written in English must be accompanied by English translations.

Students whose first language is not English and who attended educational institutions where all subject matter was not presented in English must take and submit the results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 550 or submit a transcript showing the completion of the highest level of an intensive English language program. International students will be held to the same admissions policies as all other applicants.

After acceptance is granted, a $100 non-refundable tuition deposit, an International Student Agreement Form, and a certified Statement of Support Form are required for the University to issue an I-20 Form.

English Language Requirement

Courses at the College are taught in English; therefore, all international students are required to take English reading and writing placement tests before registering for any courses. The tests are scheduled by the staff in the Learning Center before the start of classes. If students miss the scheduled testing session, it is their responsibility to report to the Learning Center, located in Haggar Hall, before registering for classes. Based on the results of the placement tests, students might be required to take undergraduate ESL courses in reading and/or writing. If students need extensive English preparation, it is College policy to have students complete an intensive English program elsewhere before enrolling in any graduate program. All fees associated with these courses are the responsibility of the student.
