APPLICATION MATERIALS

Application to the Combined BS/MS Physician Assistant Program requires that all documents be submitted together in one envelope. Incomplete applications will be returned to the applicant for completion and resubmission by the postmark deadline. Application to the MS Program must be done through the Centralized Application Service For Physician Assistants (CASPA) as described below. Your GRE scores, however, should be sent directly to Philadelphia University (Code 2666) Office of Graduate Admissions by Educational Testing Services

Freshman (Combined B.S./M.S.)

The postmark deadline for submission of application materials for the fall semester beginning in August is January 31.
Applicants will be contacted for phone interviews shortly after receipt of their completed application packet.

The following credentials must be submitted together, in one envelope, postmarked by January 31.  Faxes are not accepted.

  1. $35 non-refundable application fee payable to Philadelphia University (check or money order)

  2. General University Application for Admission (download)

  3. PA Supplemental Application (download)

  4. Official High School Transcript

  5. Official College Transcript (if applicable)

  6. SAT or ACT scores

  7. International student must submit TOEFL test results.  A score of 213 (on computer-based test) or better is required.

  8. Letters of Reference
    Please have three letters of reference completed using the form provided.  Recommendations must be submitted with your application in sealed envelopes with references' signatures across envelope flaps.  These preferably should be from individuals who are familiar with your academic, volunteer or occupational work such as a teacher or supervisor.  Please fill out the top portion of these forms labeled "Applicant."  The waiver signature on the form is suggested but not mandatory.

  9. Personal Essay
    Please write and submit a short essay discussing your motivation for wanting to be a PA and attributes you have that make you well suited for the PA profession.  This preferably should be typed, and limited to one page.

M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies

The deadline for submission of application materials for the fall semester beginning in late July or early August is November 1.  Formal review of completed files begin in November for invitation to selection interviews from February through March. Due to the volume of applications received it may be beneficial to apply early.

Philadelphia University is a participant in the Centralized Application Service for Physician Assistants [CASPA]. To apply for admission into the MS in Physician Assistant Studies program, please visit the CASPA web site at www.caspaonline.org. Applications for admission will only be accepted through the CASPA service.

You must request that official copies of your transcripts be sent directly to CASPA by the institution(s) attended. Student copies of transcripts or copies sent to CASPA directly by the applicant are not acceptable. Letters of reference should also be sent directly to CASPA from the person making the reference. Your GRE scores, however, should be sent directly to Philadelphia University (Code 2666), Office of Graduate Admissions by Educational Testing Services.
