NOTE: Due to changes in science and the importance of these science foundation courses as a basis for the PA curriculum, these science courses should be no more than seven years old. A waiver of this limit can be given to individuals who have worked in a scientific field on a regular basis or who have completed several higher-level science courses more recently. Candidates must write a letter to the PA program requesting this waiver of the seven-year limit.

Advanced Placement and Transfer Credit                                     The PA Program rarely awards advanced placement or transfer credit for Professional Phase courses. In some cases where students come to the Program with advanced degrees in scientific areas (ex. Ph.D. in Anatomy) credit can be given for some basic science courses taken at another institution. These students may be asked to successfully complete a challenge exam.  The Program does not give advanced placement credit or transfer credit for any of the clinical rotations or preceptorships. The Program also does not give credit for experiential learning.
