New Jersey Campus

We are pleased to announce the Thomas Jefferson University Physician Assistant Program – New Jersey Campus.

The program will partner with Richard Stockton University of New Jersey and Reliance Medical Group. This program builds on the relationships that Thomas Jefferson University has formed with New Jersey medical communities. Thomas Jefferson University has affiliations with several South Jersey hospitals and numerous physician practices for the clinical education of Physician Assistant students.

The New Jersey campus is initially located in Stockton University’s Carnegie Center, a campus center in the Atlantic City resort area, one block off the beach. It provides a dynamic adult learning environment. The Carnegie Center includes classrooms, physical diagnosis laboratory and simulation spaces, a computer lab, a student lounge, faculty offices, and seminar rooms. There is free on-site parking in a secure parking lot adjacent to the Carnegie Center.

Student services such as library services, fitness center, and graduate housing will be available through Stockton University. The full-dissection cadaver lab will be housed at Shore Medical Center. There will be four dedicated faculty at the Atlantic City location who will actively teach in class and laboratory sessions, participate University activities, and practice clinically. The Physician Assistant Program faculty is based at each respective campus, but the faculty share teaching and supervisory responsibilities at both campuses. Delivery of the curriculum will occur by faculty at the New Jersey campus, expert guest lectures, as well as by shared lectures with the Philadelphia campus. Program class size was 20 students during the first year, thereby maintaining the faculty:student ratio of approximately 8:1. Since then our New Jersey campus has grown to 34 students, where the current faculty:student ratio is 12.5:1.

By utilizing the resources available through the Thomas Jefferson University College of Science, Health, and Liberal Arts, the program strives to achieve excellence and assist students in reaching their maximum potential. With over 850 graduates from our program; we are proud of our alumni who currently work in all areas of medicine, including active involvement in government and leadership positions.
