Undergraduates with an eye toward medical school or a career in the allied health fields will receive the preparation they need from the B.S. in Pre-Medical Studies program. PhilaU’s umbrella major provides a broad range of science courses while offering electives unique for the undergraduate level, including histology and pathology. Our case-history and problem-based learning approach is designed to help students attain proficiency in interpreting complex data, while clinic experiences and preceptorships support the development of analytical, empathic and communication skills that are critical for success in medical school and the health professions.
In addition to an innovative curriculum, our students benefit from small class sizes that allow for individual relationships with faculty, who help plan possible career paths and assist with medical school applications. Our graduates are accepted to programs at Temple University School of Medicine, Thomas Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School, among other institutions.
