Adjunct Faculty

Adjunct Faculty Homepage

These pages have been developed to help to provide you with up-to-date information about faculty affairs, including messages from the Provost, accomplishments, union activity and frequently asked questions.

As you may know, there has been activity on campus to try to organize the Philadelphia University adjunct faculty into a union. While we recognize that the faculty have the right to join a union, we strongly believe that doing so is not in your best interest.

These pages will help inform you about the organizing process and provide you with the University's perspective on this critical topic.

You may be approached by a union organizer and asked to sign an authorization card, which is the first step in the process to try and organize you.

It is your choice as to whether to sign a union card or not.

We respect your right to make an informed, educated decision about union representation and encourage you to read the information, and check the resources provided on these pages as part of that process.

Please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions and Resources on this website for factual information about what it means to be represented by a labor union.

At PhilaU, we value adjunct faculty as an essential part of our community, and work to hear and act on needs of all groups. If you have questions or concerns, we encourage you to ask them, and have provided several points of contact to facilitate those exchanges.
