* The Philadelphia University Design Workshop

The mission of the Philadelphia University Design Workshop is to provide students with an opportunity to work on real-life projects for real clients, thus gaining valuable experience while still in school. Further, the Philadelphia University Design Workshop provides students with a tremendous opportunity to work in interdisciplinary teams in a highly collaborative environment. Many of our clients have been from the Philadelphia University community and/or nonprofit institutions or organizations, which also gives students an opportunity to engage in community or service based learning. The Philadelphia University Design Workshop is a practicum-based design elective course available to select junior and senior-year students.

Projects have ranged from the design of Exhibitions to Branding/Identity, from Posters and Marketing and Promotional Campaigns to Websites. Students are exposed to client relations and the professional presentation of their work, as well as all levels of Production, thus gaining practical experience prior to graduation.

The Philadelphia University Design Workshop has produced award-winning work for such satisfied clients as: the New Jersey State Police; the National Constitution Center; the Philadelphia Orchestra; Peace Day Philly; East Falls Historical Society; Metropolitan Ballet Academy; Jenkintown Community Band; Bold and Centered Productions; Old Academy Players Theatre; Gemini Theatre; Philadelphia University Office of the President; Philadelphia University Office of Admissions; Philadelphia University Career Services; Philadelphia University Public Relations; School of Architecture; School of Design and Media; School of Engineering and Textile; School of Liberal Arts and Honors Program.
