Final Exam Days: December 11, 2008 through December 17, 2008
Official Fall 2008 Final Exam Grid Schedule
FINAL EXAMINATIONS AND CRITIQUES
Final examinations are scheduled during a one week period at the end of each semester. Examination periods are two hours in length. Critiques are scheduled during the days after classes end each semester and prior to the start of the final examinations. The University has a policy prohibiting the administration of any final examinations during the last "instructional" week of the semester in place of an examination during the scheduled exam week. Critiques are prohibited from being administered during the final exam period. No student is required to take more than three final examinations or critiques in a given day. If, because of this policy, it is necessary for a student to have any examination rescheduled, arrangements must be made with the University Registrar no later than one week in advance of the start of exam week. If a student must miss a final examination, notice should be given to the course instructor or, if the instructor is unavailable, to the school administrative assistant (or the Office of Continuing and Professional Studies) in advance of the scheduled exam.
CONFLICT FINAL EXAMINATIONS AND CRITIQUES
The University Registrar’s Office is responsible for establishing the final examination schedule, which is created at the beginning of the semester. Individual schools are responsible for creating the critique schedules which usually become available toward the end of the semester. Every effort is made to establish a final examination schedule that is free of conflicts. Invariably, some conflicts arise. Any student with a direct final examination conflict (two or more examinations scheduled at the same time) should try to resolve the issue with their instructor and then contact the University Registrar's Office if a solution can not be reached. Any student with a direct critique conflict should try to resolve the issue with their instructor and then the dean of their school if a solution can not be reached.
When is
my final exam?
The final
exam schedule is based on the day and time of your current course schedule. For
any courses that include labs please follow
the schedule based on the day, time and place of your lecture only (labs are not
scheduled for a final).
Where is my final exam?
Exams will be held in the same classroom in which your class currently meets. Critiques and Common Exam rooms will be posted.
Critiques
Students will be notified by their faculty which courses require critiques. Critiques are not part of the final schedule, but will be held during the "reading days" (Dec 8th through Dec 10th).
