Susan
Christoffersen,
Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Economics and
Finance. She received her M.A. and Ph.D. from
New York University and B.A. from the State
University of New York at Stony Brook. She has
been a recipient of numerous fellowships
including NYU Fellowships, New York State Full
Regents Scholarship, and a Policeman’s
Benevolent Association Scholarship. Her research
agenda follows three main paths: pedagogical
work, strategic R&D competition and empirical
studies. Currently she is the Principle
Investigator of a National Textile Center Grant
identifying Optimal Investment Strategies for
the Textile Industry. Her publications can be
found in the Journal of Legal Economics, Eastern
Economic Journal, Journal of Applied Business
Research, Real Estate Issues, Journal of Global
Competitiveness, and others. She was recently
elected to the Board of the Eastern Economics
Association, and is a frequent presenter at the
American Academy of Economic and Financial
Experts, and the International Atlantic Society.
While she claims to enjoy skiing, sailing, and
gardening, her main avocation is travel,
including trips to Cuba, Japan, Argentina,
Europe, Scandinavia, and North Africa.

Malhotra
is a Professor of Finance and
coordinator for the international business trips. He joined
Philadelphia University in 1993. Before joining
Philadelphia University, he was working on his
Ph.D. degree in finance at the University of
Alabama from 1989 to 1993. Dr. Malhotra teaches
courses in Derivative Securities, Fixed Income
Securities, International Finance, and
Investment and Portfolio Management at the
undergraduate and graduate level. His research
interests are interest rate swaps, currency
swaps, credit derivatives, mutual funds, and
application of neural network and neuro-fuzzy
techniques in finance. Dr. Malhotra has
published over 25 research articles in such
journals as European Journal of Operational
Research, Journal of Financial Research,
Financial Review, European Journal of Finance,
Quarterly Journal of Business and Economics,
Journal of Economics and Finance, Journal of
Multinational Financial Management, Journal of
Retail Banking, The Real Estate Finance Journal,
The International Journal of Finance, Journal of
Intelligent Systems, Advances in Futures and
Options Research, Journal of Commercial Lending,
Journal of Global Business and Journal of
Lending and Credit Risk Management. In addition,
he has presented over 35 research papers at
various academic conferences all over the world.
New York Times, Investor’s Business Daily, and
Philadelphia Inquirer have quoted Dr. Malhotra
on such wide ranging topics as mutual fund
expenses, declining value of EURO, and merger of
Cores State Bank with First Union Bank. Dr.
Malhotra’s biographical profile has been
included in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in
Finance and Industry, and Who’s Who in the East.
Dr. Malhotra was also the recipient of 1999
President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching at
Philadelphia University. He also received the
School of Business Administration’s award for
excellence in research for two consecutive
years.

Russow is
a Professor
of International Business
and Marketing. Dr.
Russow is also the Associate Dean of Graduate
Business Programs.

Khin
(Jasmine) Aye Than
received her BCom and MCom from the Rangoon
Institute of Economics. She also has a BL degree
from Rangoon University of Arts and Sciences.
Dr. Than was awarded the Fulbright Scholarship
to study at Wharton School of Business and
received her MA in Accounting before
transferring to Management to pursue a PhD in
Management. At present, Dr. Than holds ABD
status in Management. Professor Than has been
involved in representing international women
students’ issues and concerns at Penn during her
student years and received the 1994-1995 Alice
Paul Award. Jasmine Than's research interests
include corporate social responsibility,
business ethics and the role of NGOs in
international business. |
