conducted research among the
Negev bedouin in Israel for
a decade. In addition, his
academic interests extend
beyond the Middle East to
geography and urban
studies. Professor Dinero
is presently studying the
social and economic impacts
of settlement on a formerly
nomadic hunter-gatherer
community in northeast
Alaska, the Nets'aii
Gwich'in.
