Why Study
Psychology?
Psychology uses principles of
behavior to address problems in such
diverse settings as industry,
government, health care and the
general community.
Psychology graduates may choose to
work in professions such as social
work, education, counseling,
medicine or management. They may
also enter fields such as human
resource management, crisis
intervention, sales and public
relations.
The program is designed to provide
students with a strong background in
the major fields of psychology, with
an emphasis on experimental design
and techniques.

At the senior level, students
participate in advanced research and
may pursue independent study
projects, such as applied work in
human services agencies, hospitals
or residential treatment centers.
Students may opt to complete a co-op
to obtain practical experience in
their field, as well as course
credit.
Students with a strong interest in
particular research topics may
pursue independent study with
individual professors for course
credit.
Graduates are prepared for graduate
work in experimental or clinical
psychology. |
