Biopsychology

Why Study Biopsychology?

As our understanding of a biological basis for behavior grows, so does the demand for highly trained, behaviorally oriented scientists. Biopsychology is one of the fastest growing fields in psychology.

Biopsychology majors meet this demand by completing a program of study that integrates the natural sciences and the psychology of behavior.

The program is designed to prepare students for graduate work in biopsychology or entry into medical or veterinary school.

Biopsychology at PhilaU

Students complete a core of psychology and science studies. They then select a concentration track for pre-med, graduate study in Neuroscience or Biopsychology, or industry.

Graduates are prepared for advanced study, medical school or entry into medical or pharmaceutical research.

Research focuses on animal behavior, sensory processing, and psychopharmacology

Summer research for undergraduates is available.
