Continuing Education for Midwives
To assist midwives with maintaining and upgrading their knowledge and skill set, Philadelphia University offers several online continuing education courses that are approved by ACNM. Each course takes a total of 60 hours to successfully complete and students can earn 6 CEU’s.
Current course offerings include:
The courses are formatted into modules that build upon each other and each module takes approximately 10 hours to complete. This can be a significant workload for the professional who is working full time, and a commitment to completing the course in the allotted time frame is necessary.
In addition to the 6 CEU’s granted by ACNM, students will receive a Philadelphia University Certificate of Achievement once the course is successfully completed.
Please note that it is the responsibility of each participant to verify that each of these courses is acceptable to their state board and meets the requirements of their facility.
Register early as each session is limited to 15 students and courses reach capacity quickly. Given that these courses are completely online, students must possess a working knowledge of basic computer skills including word processing, e-mail, internet searches, and navigating the web.
Registrations can be taken over the phone by calling 215.951.2900. Payment in full with a credit card is due at the time of registration. Once registered, students will receive a receipt of payment and additional course materials approximately two weeks prior to the course start date. In the meantime, we encourage you to order the required and recommended textbooks once registered so you have them for the start of the course.
