Digital Surface Imaging & Textile Printing:
About the Program
This is a unique opportunity to learn the fundamentals of digital surface imaging and printed substrates. The focus of the workshop is the integration of design and technology that is essential for the successful conversion of digital images to fabric.
The design module will introduce the student to ten basic tools and techniques of digital imaging using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator design software. Students will learn to scan original artwork, edit images, construct motifs and create basic repeat designs for digital print output.
The printing module will consist of learning state-of-the-art digital printer performance and maintenance, ink formulations, as well as the software used for driving printers and managing color. Both modules will give students a hands-on opportunity to design and produce their own printed fabric.
