Philadelphia University can support civic engagement efforts through student employment in several ways. Community Service Coordinators are selected to help support on-campus educational programs and off-campus service events. In addition, Service Coordinators act as a resource to their peers who are interested in getting involved in community service. Also, Philadelphia University students who are awarded work study funds and choose to use their awards to perform community service are hosted by local nonprofit agencies, working off-campus in support of the mission of these community partners. Students can also be selected to be a Peer Mentor for one of our Learning Community classes and receive compensation for their work in that role.
