have
established the following Conditions of Use regarding Telecommunications
equipment and services. When you
use these systems, you agree to the following:
-
To
respect the privacy of other users; for example, you shall not seek or
modify long distance PINs or Voicemail passwords.
-
To
respect the rights of other users; for example, you shall comply with all
University policies regarding the placing of harassing or obscene phone
calls. These policies are in
place for the protection of all University staff, faculty and students and
are strictly enforced by OIT. The
violation of such policies is a criminal offense and OIT reserves the right
to report such incidents to the University.
-
To
maintain the integrity and comply with the agreement of long distance
billing provided by STC. All
calls made from University premises require a PIN except for calls to
Philadelphia’s Zone 3 and toll free calls.
In the unlikely event that a call is placed without a PIN being
required, all students assigned to that extension will be responsible for
determining who placed the call, and the subsequent payment of that call.
-
To respect and uphold Telecommunications services
and equipment provided; for example, you will not intentionally misuse, remove, repair, damage, abuse, destroy or in
any manner tamper with voicemail services or cable equipment.
The Office of Information Technology will enforce this
policy to the best of their abilities. In
accordance with established University practices, policies and procedures,
violation of this policy may result in disciplinary review, expulsion from the
University, suspension or revocation telephone or cable services, termination of
employment, legal action, or other disciplinary action as deemed appropriate.
Please refer to the Conditions and Use Policy
published by the Office of Information Technology regarding appropriate use of
Information Technology resources. This information is available from the Office
of Information Technology or at their web site at http://www.PhilaU.edu/OIT
under the "Important Policies" section.
The Office of Information Technology reserves the
right to modify this policy as is necessary to safeguard University users.
