All faculty, staff, and students are assigned personal voicemail accounts.  The Meridian Mail Voice Messaging system is user friendly and provides step-by-step directions after you log into your mailbox.

Features include:

bullet

separate greetings for internal callers and external callers

bullettemporary greetings for when you’re away from campus
bulletdistribution lists for sending voicemail to a group
bulletmessage forwarding

Check our quick reference guide to utilize some of these features.  Tip sheets are also available at OIT or, for students, from your RA.

Logging on to voicemail the first time:

bullet

Voice mailbox numbers for full and part-time faculty, staff & students are based on phone extensions. Faculty and staff with individually assigned telephone numbers and students in single rooms will have a four-digit mailbox matching their extension.

bullet

Faculty, staff, and students sharing an extension with co-workers or roommates will have a five-digit mailbox made up of the extension plus their menu number.  Call your own phone number (say x5555) to hear your line's menu.   If the menu prompts you to press 3 for <your name>, it means that your voice mailbox number is 55553. You must discover your own voice mailbox number in order to access your account.

bullet

Since adjunct faculty do not have a direct telephone number, voicemail boxes are created beginning with the number '5'.  Please contact your school's administrative department in order to set up an voicemail box.

bulletWhen you know your mailbox number, dial the voicemail system at x2500, enter your mailbox number followed by the # sign, then enter your temporary password (same as mailbox number), again followed by #.
bulletTelecommunications strongly encourages users to change their default password when they log into the voicemail system for the first time to ensure security.  To do this, enter '8' and '4' after logging into your voicemail and follow the prompts to change your password.
