Students realize their ideas in our Knit labs as shown above.

    a. Students work on Passap hand knit machines to create their own samples, exploring color and texture in relation to knit structure.
    b. The Shima system allows students to design on the computer and feed that information directly to the electronic flat bed machine which knits their creations.
    c. Here the student designer explores jersey patterns using one of our electronic samplers.

    Shima Seiki SES 122-S 7 cut electronic V-bed flat machine with CAD system
    Hand machines: Passap DM80 6 cut flats (12)

    Monarch 4 track 18 cut circular jersey
    Vanguard Fleece 13 cut circular jersey Master 12 color electronic 18 cut circular jersey sampler (3)
    Mayer & Cie OVJA 18 cut circular rib
    K. Mayer Raschel 20 cut warp knitting
    K. Mayer Tricot 28 cut warp knitting
    K. Mayer Weft Insertion Warp Knitting machine

Hand machines:

    Dubied 5 cut flats (4)
    Stoll 5 cut flats (5)
    Stoll 10 cut flats (1)
    Grosser 2 cut flats (1)
    Dubied 8 cut flats (4)

Computers:

    Shima Seiki's Shimatronic system (linked to its own knitting machine)
