Members of the University Discuss
Sainthood during the Holy Week

Marketing student Annemarie Nagle '06, an intern in the Office of Public Relations, authored this article.

On April 11, the Office of Spiritual Development hosted a campuswide discussion, The Idea of Sainthood in the Catholic Church, lead by Susan Harte, campus minister, University of Pennsylvania Neumann Center, in the Student Center Lounge.

Harte, who holds a master’s degree in Theology from Boston College, discussed the role of saints in the Catholic Church and how those roles vary across different cultures and nationalities. During the discussion, guests were invited to explore the significance of saints and their personal relationships with religion. The event provided students, faculty and staff the opportunity to learn about Catholicism during the holy week.
