University Dedicated Plaza to Swedish Diplomat

Philadelphia University dedicated the walled plaza located between the side entrance of The Kanbar Campus Center and the Athletic and Recreation Center on April 26 in honor of Swedish diplomat Raoul Wallenberg, who saved tens of thousands of Hungarian Jews during the Holocaust.

Members of the University community attended the event to hear remarks by President James P. Gallagher, Coordinator of Spiritual Development Marjorie Berman and University students. During the ceremony, guests received Wallenberg biographies attached to yellow roses as special keepsakes to commemorate Wallenberg’s efforts in liberating Jews persecuted during the holocaust.
