Special Events Coordinator Named

President James P. Gallagher, Ph.D., announced today the appointment of Lauren Carney as special events coordinator in the President's Office.

“We are excited to have Lauren join our community,” said Dr. Gallagher, “and we look forward to working with her. Lauren's experience will be valuable to the University, especially as it reaches out to new friends and donors.”

Ms. Carney comes to Philadelphia University after several years as the academic events coordinator and commencement coordinator at Thomas Jefferson University. She also brings to the position her valuable experience working on major events for the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. As special events coordinator, Ms. Carney’s primary responsibilities will include working to coordinate large-scale, university wide events. In addition, she will work with on- and off-campus groups and individuals to coordinate conferences, workshops and other special events on campus.
