High School Students Explore Engineering at
Philadelphia University

Philadelphia University’s School of Engineering and Textiles hosts its third annual Exploring Engineering Camp for high school juniors and seniors, today, July 16 through Friday, July 20.

Held in the University’s state-of-the-art Fundamentals of Engineering Laboratory, located in Hayward Hall, by engineering faculty and graduate students, including Associate Professor of Engineering Fernando Tovia, the camp is designed to cultivate students’ interest in engineering as a career and provide them with insight into the field. During the camp, the students—who have come from across the region to participate—work in multi-disciplinary teams to solve real-world engineering problems. Projects cover the areas of structural engineering, robotics and more. At the conclusion of the camp, students will prepare oral presentations about what they’ve learned.

The Exploring Engineering Camp is sponsored by the Delaware Valley Industrial Resource Center.
