Library Director Announced

Jeffrey Senese, Ph.D., vice president for Academic Affairs and dean of the faculty, announced today that Kathleen Colson Mulroy has been appointed the new director of the Paul J. Gutman Library.

"Mrs. Mulroy joins Philadelphia University with nearly 30 years of related experience," said Dr. Senese.  "Her practice in designing and implementing library cooperative plans will truly benefit the University."

In her previous position as director of the Lourdes Library at Gwynedd-Mercy College in Gwynedd Valley, Pa., Mrs. Mulroy worked to upgrade the library’s technology, instituted a library instruction program for enrolled students, implemented a college wide reading and film program and served on several college committees, including Gwynedd-Mercy College’s Information Technology Committee, where she helped to develop the college’s first multi-year technology plan.

Mrs. Mulroy is also a member of the Tri-State College Library Cooperative Executive Board and has co-authored several publications. She earned her bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science and master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Kentucky. She is also the recipient of the 2007 Tri-State College Library Cooperative Spirit of Cooperation award for her exemplary service to the organization.

Please join in welcoming Mrs. Mulroy to Philadelphia University.
