Reception for Open
Celebrates Publication's Success
Members of the University community turned out to celebrate the success of student publication Open: A Writing and Design Collaboration at a reception on Thursday, Oct. 6 in the Paul J. Gutman Library.
A collaborative project composed of writings and
designs from freshmen students in Philadelphia
University’s First Year Experience program, Open was awarded the University and College Design
Association’s 2005 Award of Excellence in
August.
Recent Graphic Design Communication graduates
Ryan Becker and Tess Orgasan designed and
produced the project during their Advanced
Publication Design course this past spring. For
the more than 20 writing and design students
behind the publication, this achievement marked
their second win in two years.
Sponsored by the Paul J. Gutman
Library, the
Office of Academic Affairs and the School of
Liberal Arts, the reception honored those who
contributed to the project’s win, including the
many supportive faculty and staff from across
the University.
