Events

The Philadelphia University TLTR sponsors events and programs designed to raise awareness of the uses of technology for instruction. Past programs have feature guest speakers, faculty showcases, and resource demonstrations. This page is a regularly updated listing of planned events and programs.

Upcoming Events

October 31, 2000

A lunchtime program at Downs Auditorium that will explore the information literacy initiative being developed at Philadelphia University. Jordana Shane will lead a presentation and discussion about information literacy goals, and direct a hands-on activity to help attendees identify research skills their students need, and how assignments can be used to help build the necessary skills.

Brown Bag Lunches - This fall the TLTR is sponsoring a series of four brown bag lunches on CourseInfo, each covering a different area of functionality:

Oct. 24 - Communication Tools
Nov. 7 - Testing/Assessment Tools
Nov. 16 - Course Statistics

All brown bag lunch events are held at the Ravenhill Breakout Rooms

September 26, 2000

A lunchtime program at Downs Auditorium that will focus on ERes and Blackboard's CourseInfo, using demonstration to identify the relative strength and weaknesses of each product in order to help faculty determine how each can best be used to deliver and support teaching and learning.

March 30, 2000

A lunchtime program at Ravenhill Manor that will showcase faculty using technology in  their courses. More information will be forthcoming. This program will be available to faculty and staff.

February 29, 2000: Gene Roche, Director of Communications and Organizational Development at The College of William & Mary, was the speaker at a lunch program. He discussed the process for integrating technology into the classroom, and demonstrated how Blackboard's CourseInfo product is being used at his campus.
