MBA Capstone Business Plan Competition; Year-End Business Graduate Program Awards
The graduate programs in the School of Business Administration at Philadelphia University celebrated the end of year with a business plan competition and student awards.
Karen Bloomfield, Larry Friedman, Ashley Grande, Vishal Patel and Kali Sodano, won the Day-MBA team business plan competition for their innovative business plan, “WineKnow,” a DVD product targeted to baby boomers who want to not only increase their knowledge about wines without the expense and hassle of attending wine school but also have fun in a social setting through an interactive game testing wine expertise.
Russ Kershaw, Ph.D., dean of the School of Business; Gaytana “Gaye” Pino, president and CEO of Paper And Ribbon Supply Co.; and Jeffrey Snellenburg, entrepreneur, chairman of the Pennsylvania Angel Network, served as judges for the Day MBA business plan competition.
Three awards were distributed at an MBA reception. Sarah O’Neil of Neshanic Station, N.J., received the Outstanding Day MBA Student. O’Neil is pursuing a dual MBA/M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies. She will begin the Physician Assistant Studies program this summer.
Melissa Goepel of Ephraim, N.J., who is completing the M.S. in Taxation Program, received the 2009 Outstanding Tax Student award.
Jeff Hyacinthe of Philadelphia received the Outstanding Evening MBA Student award.
