Men’s basketball coach Herb Magee, who became the winningest all-NCAA coach on Feb. 23 with 903 career wins, should be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, noted sportswriter Dick Weiss said in a Feb. 25 New York Daily News story. “Magee, who has won 20 or more games 29 times, graduates his players, makes regular NCAA appearances and has never had a scent of scandal in his program, deserves this honor,” Weiss wrote.

Men’s basketball coach Herb Magee won his 903rd game to become the winningest all-NCAA coach in history when the Rams beat Goldey-Beacom 76-65 in front of an exhilarated home court crowd on Feb. 23, reported ESPN, The New York Times, AP, USA Today, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Daily News, CBS3, 6ABC, NBC10, Fox29 and many other media outlets nationwide.
With this win, Magee topped the record of legendary coach Bob Knight, whose 902 career wins in the NCAA previously held the top spot.

The PhilaU Rams will play for Coach Magee’s 903rd win at home Feb. 23 against Goldey-Beacom, which would top Knight’s record of all-NCAA career wins.
