GENERAL INTEREST RESOURCES

For general writing resources, go to Gutman Library's section on Writing--Links to Rhetoric and Writing Sites on the Internet.

Campus resources

Career Services Center: Go here to get help writing a resume, rehearse for interviews, and find job listings.

Paul J. Gutman Library: Usually the first stop for students seeking materials for their next research paper. If it’s not here, it can be obtained through interlibrary loan. Gutman also houses media services (such as color photocopying, microfiche and the slide collection). For information about Blackboard CourseInfo and ERes, contact the Library at 215-951-2840.

Learning and Advising Center: All kinds of help, from writing tutoring to math review sessions to one-on-one subject explanations. This is also the place for first-years to come to meet with their academic advisors.

Off-campus (Philadelphia) Resources

Philadelphia Weekly online contains listings for the week’s events.

American Institute of Architects-Philadelphia offers guided tours of the city which focus on a particular architectural style.

The Institute of Contemporary Art is located on UPenn’s campus.

The Mutter Museum at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia contains all sorts of items, from medical instruments to preserved body parts.

The Philadelphia Art Alliance organizes exhibitions of  local and nationally known artists. They also have a lecture series.

Dance, music, performance, visual arts, poetry… lots of things are going on at the Painted Bride.

This link is not an official website for the Fabric Workshop and Museum, but it gives background on it and the Workshop’s hours. All fabric, all the time.

The Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia web page contains links to most of the theaters in Philadelphia.

Moore College of Art and Design has two galleries, and they sponsor lectures; Todd Oldham was a recent guest.

The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts brings in artists for lectures in addition to putting on exhibitions.

Temple, like most large universities, has tons of activities going on campus, ranging from speakers to sports events.

The University of the Arts, as one might expect, has performances of all sorts, from dance to theater. They also have art exhibitions.

UPenn also offers a variety of events; try searching for lectures and other events sponsored by schools, like Wharton School of Business.

Gutman Library's page on Philadelphia resources contains lots more in-depth items. However, not all the links are current.
