Services Center: Go here to get help writing a resume, rehearse for
interviews, and find job listings.
Paul J. Gutman Library:
Usually the first stop for students seeking materials for their next research
paper. If it’s not here, it can be obtained through interlibrary loan. Gutman
also houses media services (such as color photocopying, microfiche and the slide
collection). For information about Blackboard
CourseInfo and ERes, contact
the Library at 215-951-2840.
Learning and
Advising Center: All kinds of help, from writing tutoring to math review
sessions to one-on-one subject explanations. This is also the place for
first-years to come to meet with their academic advisors.
Off-campus (Philadelphia) Resources
Philadelphia Weekly
online contains listings for the week’s events.
American Institute of
Architects-Philadelphia offers guided tours of the city which focus on a
particular architectural style.
The Institute of
Contemporary Art is located on UPenn’s campus.
The Mutter
Museum at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia contains all sorts of
items, from medical instruments to preserved body parts.
The Philadelphia
Art Alliance organizes exhibitions of local
and nationally known artists. They also have a lecture series.
Dance, music, performance, visual arts, poetry… lots of
things are going on at the Painted Bride.
This link is not an official website for the Fabric
Workshop and Museum, but it gives background on it and the Workshop’s
hours. All fabric, all the time.
The Theatre
Alliance of Greater Philadelphia web page contains links to most of the
theaters in Philadelphia.
Moore
College of Art and Design has two galleries, and they sponsor lectures; Todd
Oldham was a recent guest.
The Pennsylvania
Academy of Fine Arts brings in artists for lectures in addition to putting
on exhibitions.
Temple,
like most large universities, has tons of activities going on campus, ranging
from speakers to sports events.
The University
of the Arts, as one might expect, has performances of all sorts, from dance
to theater. They also have art exhibitions.
UPenn
also offers a variety of events; try searching for lectures and other events
sponsored by schools, like Wharton School of Business.
