Philadelphia University residence halls are equipped with technology to help better your school experience at school. With wireless Internet and cable TV you will be able to keep up to date both online and through the visual information medium.


Wireless Internet in the Residence Halls

Philadelphia University provides wireless Internet in all of the residence halls. This is accessible for all members of the University. For directions on how to connect to the University Network please visit our Register Device webpage.

(Note: Personal wireless printers are not supported on campus)

You may also visit the Laptop Clinic in the basement of the Gutman Library to get hands on support connecting your technology to the University wireless Internet. You can also contact the Technology Help Desk for support connecting your device. 


Wired Connections in the Dorms

For higher-bandwidth devices a "Wired Internet Connection" might be required or recommended. In each of the residence halls is accessibility to a wired connection with a normal Ethernet cable. (Sold in the University Bookstore)

Cable TV Alternatives

There are a variety of third party solutions available to watch and stream content through your computer or from the Internet onto a TV. These include, but are not limited to:

Netflix Netflix's streaming service for $7.99 a month carries hundreds of movies and TV shows that you can watch on most mobile devices
If current TV is something you are interested in Hulu is the service for you. Their streaming content lets you watch current episodes of TV with limited commercials
Watch full-length Hollywood movies & TV shows on your phone. Free and on demand
AppleTV Connect to the iTunes Store and have access to current and old TV and movies. All in HD. All on your TV
Use popular services like Hulu, Netflix, HBO GO, and Amazon on Demand through your TV
With any HBO subscription comes HBO GO. A place you can watch all of the content on HBO on most mobile devices.


Phone Policy

There are no hard phone lines in the Residence Halls. Students must use cellphones or Skype if they wish to communicate over the telephone.
